So...just what is it you're supposed to do while hanging around the FarParker site? Here...let us help describe the pages in more detail in case you spent a little too long after the game in the change room tonight...
My Locker Room - Our 'social arena'. This is where you can share all your thoughts, feelings and beefs about hockey, or actually anything for that matter. It's social media for beer league hockey! Register for free as a member and get socializing - it's fast, easy, fun...and of course, gets you into our free giveaways for registered members! Did You Know? - Our professional editorial arena. This is where we've gone out and rustled up a whole bunch of industry professionals and experts from a variety of fields...from health, to coaching & tips to NHL player interviews, you should be able to find something here to improve at least ONE part of your life...if not your game! Being a member grants you access to ALL articles... Marketplace - Our 'sell your junk' arena. Kind of like Craigslist, but just between us recreational hockey buffs & fans. Post anything you have to sell (no charge!) to our community, and see if you can move it. After all, the more places you can be for free the better! Forums - Our 'let it all out' arena. We've provided a few headings to start with that we'd love to hear your feedback on, but of course...feel free to set up your own discussions if there's something you just really need to unload off your chest! The more you write, the more you help us grow (which helps us get more and more free prizing to give back in our contests!) Polls - Our 'vote on it' arena. What's a website if you can't vote on something? We'll keep updating the questions...you keep seeing if you can get them right! And yeah...they'll typically be about something hockey related! Store - Our 'buy stuff' arena. We'll constantly be adding to our products list, from authentic replica sports jerseys to bubble hockey tables to BladeTape, so keep checking back in to get the stuff you need to make your game better...and oh yeah, since we don't really have much overhead, we'll be happy to pass along those cost savings to you for cheaper stuff than you can buy elsewhere!! Search - Our 'find somebody' arena. Look up friends, nicknames and other people to hang with online, or maybe even set up a game or two with! Directory - Our 'find a business' arena. We've essentially cut out 7,500 headings from the phone book, and provided just the stuff you need to keep your game (or habits) going strong! Beat The Caption - Our 'win crap' arena. Every month we'll be posting a different photo with what we think is a pretty hilarious caption. Sign in, check it out and see if your wit can come up with something funnier than ours. You do, you win that month's prize provided by a host of sponsors we've rounded up! FarParker Girls - Enough Said. (But if you, or someone you know wants to become a FarParker girl, click the "Join Us Now" text at the top of the page and get in the game!! We'll review applicants and post them ASAP if approved!) Find A Player - Our 'Team Needs Somebody Quick' arena. Short a goalie? Need a winger? See who's available in your area...when signing up as a player, members can inform you of what position they play, who they might be willing to play for, and as a goalie, WHAT they'll play for (besides novacane)! Find A Team - Our 'Team Finder' arena. Duh. Looking for a team to hopefully let you play with? Check out those listed, or maybe even find a team to set up a pickup game with! Create A Team - Our 'team builder' arena. Need a quick and easy way to stay in touch with your teammates / banter about last night's game / notify everybody of game info or changes / show off your photos / win cool prizes? Then simply register or login, create a team and invite your teammates to sign up and start sharing & socializing through our site. Facebook is good too...but they don't give away stuff for free to their members now, do they?!? Invite A Friend - Our 'we need your help' arena. Okay...nothing grows big without a little nurturing (like Chris Pronger), so this is where we ask you to send a note to your friends/family/coworkers/enemies...to let 'em know you've found something you think you like. Nothing says, "I love you" like a free registration, eh? THE HOME PAGE - Nice of us to finish off with the first thing you typically come across, isn't it?!! Most of its pretty self-explanatory we hope, but we've added a few features we think you might like...
A few ads...yeah, we know advertising sucks, but clicking on those ads and possibly supporting our sponsors keeps 'em happy...and again, that means MORE FREE STUFF for us to giveaway to you!!! Stats - we've added some parsers to allow you to keep current with the latest statistics from the NHL/KHL/WHL/AHL Local Weather - stuck that in just incase we can't seem to look out our windows. Actually, a handy little reference incase you're wanting to set up some street hockey or lacrosse-box hockey...playing outside in the rain kinda sucks... NHL Rumour Mill - Hey...Gossip Girl built a hit TV show on this crap, and how Perez Hilton is so rich now makes us sick. Gossip away... Recent Forum Posts - just our way of letting you know up front who's been saying what. Easy to reply with your feedback, get in there and let your voice be heard! (You know...pretend you're in the penalty box and screaming why you face-masked the other team's goalie...)
So, that should give a bit of a rundown as to what the heck is going on in here. There'll be a lot more stuff coming as we grow and branch out into new, uncharted rinks, but we hope you enjoy what you see and participate where possible.
